Sometimes ideas are flowing. And when it happens I get a little crazy with my camera. I rush around to get the props. I have thousands of pictures in my head of how it's going to be. But then reality hits. The props aren't how I pictured them when laid flat. Or the model, the light, the setting aren't as I imagined.I often have I wanted to take Lily in a flower bath. And also try a milk bath. Do you want to know how it went?

white dress water bath photography
So Lily was wearing that beautiful white dress and the flowers were cut. Everything including the milk was ready. But then I started to see it. Two things were happening that I hadn't really thought of. The first one is that there is a window above the bath. It's great for the light and it was meant to be a great tool for the pictures. But I hadn't foreseen the reflection on the bath!! impossible to get rid of on spot, even with a soft diffusor (mine was too small). And the second problem is that the bath was a bit too hot. That, and the dress, Lily became all sorts of reds on her face! I could correct that a bit more than the light spot but it took me ages...We poured the milk in it to make it a bit colder but it was a bit late, however it made a pretty effect (and hid a bit the window reflection):On the plus side, she could play with the flowers a lot in the end :So that was my first attempt at a flower bath. I will try again without these flows (and maybe some more springy/summer colours and feel too! Ready for some outtakes? Voila! Let me know what you think and I hope you will still be around for the next try!
