Fancy a bit of a last summer feel before the craze of back to school and autumn start? Here are some easy summer cocktails recipes for you. And even better if you can do them with foraged berries and homemade cordial. That's the beauty of the transition between these two seasons I find :
So, the idea is simple: mix a sparkling wine of choice with a nice fruit cordial and some berries you picked this summer. And to make it a little bit fresher, I popped some of the berries in ice cubes so that their tangy, fruity taste will appear along with the freshness of the drink. Here are the mixes I did that I think you might like too:Ingredients:1.Prosecco (but any bubbly will do like cava, crΓ©mant etc. My personal favourite is a natural one as the bubbles are light an airy, it's really nice for a cocktail)2.Cordial (Rhubarb, elderflower, strawberry... I prefer them homemade as they are less sweet, you can find a nice exemple here)3.Berries ( raspberries, blackcurrant, blueberries, redcurrant, anything you can find to forage)4.Mint or fresh thyme for decoration or for the ice cubes tooSome exemples of mixes I tried:1. Prosecco, eldeflower, blueberries2. Prosecco, rhubarb, blackcurrants and raspberries3. Prosecco, rhubarb, a dash of strawberry cordial, redcurrant and blueberries4. Prosecco, strawberry, blackcurrantsAnd if you want to know what those giant ice cubes were made with, here is the link! I bought them in Sweden. But I think you can order them online. I used cherries and mint. It was delicious! And I'm intending to do some flower cubes soon! Moreover, I'm sure it would be delicious with homemade lilac cordial too (with some light fizzy wine like natural prosecco I mentioned before). And cheers to you and to the end of the summer!
