E: Not so crazy anymore about this project but up for continuing L: Still not crazy about it but not really up for continuingDo you remember when The 52 project all started? Exactly a year ago! You can click here to see what a difference a year make! I'm still unsure what is going to happen next week. If I will do a monthly portrait instead of a weekly one. Or stop completely. The sure thing is that I'm very happy I made it and I'm very thankful for all of you who followed along the way! Happy new year everyone! (if you want to see a few sneak peaks from Thailand, click below ;)) Hope you enjoyed it and see you soon for some more or something new!
52 project: a portrait of my children every week 51/52
L+E: Smile, it's the annual Christmas picture!51 week! Just one week left of the 52 project!! Amazing. What will I do next year? I have a week to reflect on that. It'a very time consuming project and I would like to take time for other projects too. Maybe I'll keep it shorter. In the meantime, don't hesitate to help me take a decision if you think I should keep it or not! This week was all about Christmas of course. But not a white one. Instead there was even some funny spring feel...We had some nice walks beforehand:And then it was time for a photo session before Christmas all started:Christmas is good, I always like all the little traditionsAnd s'more:And a moody weather:Have a happy week everyone!
52 project: a portrait of my children every week 50/52
E: Tired but the break is almost there L: Tired, but loving the iceskating place, alwaysLast weeks of the 52 project! Only two left, it's quite amazing! One can feel it's the end of the year. We are stretching it until it's finally the long awaited Christmas break. It's nice here at the moment. But it's also tough to take lovely pictures and pretend the world is ok. We are in our little bubble, in a protective way but we are aware.Lots of winter activities and when it's sunny, wow, the light is unbelievable! You can skate in town outside the rink when it's so icy:The windows of NK are usually very nice:But the best is definitely to ice skate. So nice to do it in town:Stockholm by night ain't bad either:But when the sun is out, we are having some wow moments:Going for a walk by the sea on those days are the best:It looks like it's at last 6pm but it's not even 3pm...:Eliott and the Swan:Lily and the swan:A hot chocolate:And s'more:All at the same time (and no filter!):Have a good week all!
52 project: a portrait of my children every week 49/52
L+E: cosy insideIt snowed again during the 49th week of the year here! I hope it stays on for Christmas. It's all white and glittery outside! but this week-end it snowed a lot so there was some cosy times too.We had such a nice time in Millesgården with a great exhibition about Tove Jansson. She created the mummins, but actually so much more too. if you can go, I highly recommend it! :An then time at home:We made biscuits and Swedish saffron buns:And started decorating a bit:Plus, all that with a smile:And some more:Saunas are good after a day out! And if you want the recipe of those healthlier lussekatter, traditional for Santa Lucia (tomorrow), click here:Have a nice week!

L+E: quick session before going away for the week-endI wasn't with them during the week-end of the 48th week of the 52 project. So we organised a very quick photo session last week before I took the plane. There might be very little light time in Sweden. But when it is sunny during that little window of opportunity, it's so beautiful!!!Eliott was ill part of the week but we managed to get through:Lily was sad part of the week, but went through too:And a few more outtakes, when brother and sisterhood is finally everything:Yes, we must swallow the light, while it lasts... and finally smile:Have a good week!

E+L: my new favourite photo spot Only 5 weeks left for the 52 project and I'm holding on. Holding on, because my kids are starting to get slightly fed up. But every time we manage. Even this time when Eliott went away and I took pictures of him 5 minutes before going to school on Friday. The days are shortening quite a lot and therefore Swedes are going mad with Christmas lights and deco. And so do we! There are a few (and there will be less and less) outtakes this week:Morning light I took Lily to see a ballet and it was good: the Nutcracker at Stockholm's opera:And s'more:Hope you have a nice week all!

L+E: taking advantage of the lightIt's the 46th week of the 52 project. 46! It means in only 6 weeks it's the end of the year!! Time flies...This week-end I wasn't with my children and I have so many ongoing projects . So there is no outtake (which is actually the original aim of the project. Also probably the form it'll take next year if I continue). So it is all about the light, finding the light, playing with the light and trying to take good photographs out of it! Have a good week all!

L+E: winter feelingIt's been a crazy week! We came back from Brussels and our world was covered in snow. And not just a little bit. Humongous amounts! It's going to melt, it's getting warm again. But boy, we enjoyed it. It made our return from Brussels so much easier and so less nostalgic! It's amazing to see all of this snow, especially with some bits of autumn colours left! And even in town, with a christmas feel already:So we went ice-skating:And we took a boat back to our place:Look a these amazing colours:And a special for today's super moon:Have a nice week all!

L: Paris is the new Venice?E: head in the sky, alwaysIt's week 44 of the 52 project. Only 7 weeks left until the end of the year!! And that's a good thing in a way. I have learned a lot with this project I think but now it has sort of stretched a bit long. Hence why this was published so late too.Last week-end, we were in Paris. It was nice to soak some quality family time before heading back to the north. It's full of snow here and very cold. Quite crazy!Eliott cooked his special omelette again:And my mum does the best brunches:He is still my silly little boy sometimes:Boosting her creativity, always:Not always ready to pose for me though:but still cooperating once in a while:It was such a nice day:Tourists:And more:My son got the best of books, so much him:and the "famille Choupignon":Last one from Paris:When I drafted this, the world hadn't gone mad again. I'll keep it the way it is. Hopefully we won't let the world sink into dark shadows. Let's unite and fight for better days!

E+L: The Brussels bluesIt's the 43rd week of the 52 project. And we are all back to Brussels for a week! My kids are soaking up some really good times with their friends. It is what they miss the most. And we strolled to their favourite places. It's a special week. Celebrations ahead (see bottom of the post) and more days to enjoy! We went to Caffe Al Dente for instance:And walked around excitedly from friends to friends:We spent some cosy times at our guests:But outside too:And we of course also went to Dam Sum:And enjoying the Brussels Indian summer too:My son even took a picture of me (ok, I hate my image, but it's worth mentioning):That very same son who turns 11 today!!!!HAPPY 11th BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL BOY!!!

L: playing with the darkE:playing with the light (and finally a haircut!)Ok, Sweden, I hope it's not already the real deal. It's only October! It's dark, grey and rainy. And cold. Luckily I was in Brussels and going back to it so I think it will slip through me until real winter. But my kids look so tired! Just as well, the colours are still so beautiful. It makes you forget a bit the darkness. A bit.Outside Eliott's bedroom, I love that tree. It was green two weeks ago! Before the well needed haircutAfter the haircut (and proud of his new thing, handball):You can take a walk under the rain in your own garden, yes:I have so many more, but I think I'll spare you. We also spent the afternoon in a shopping mall and did this:There was a lot of making this weekend too (necklaces, boxes, rings...):Rings for both of us but also for Eliott:There was a lot of pretending and playing too:And s'more:Outtakes for his new haircut:He wanted to keep the top long:but it's a relatively ok one I think:Many faces of the morning:and some last outtakes:If you made it until here, without being bored, congratulations (and thank you).Have a nice week!

E: crossing of teenage hood and childhoodL: only childhood (for now)It's the 41st week of the 52 project and I'm cheating a bit. I'm cheating because I didn't spend the week nor the weekend with my kids. So these photos are actually from the very last bit of last weekend... But that counts anyway! We were very cosy. We stayed home but we also went to see a cool exhibition at fotografiska. A very short post, but at least it's a post:A bit of random outtakes:I love that fotografiska has one of the best views in Stockholm:None of these are actual planet pictures!: He just loves his guitar:And she just loves pretending and making:(nope, she doesn't wear glasses)Have a good week!

L: White and Black (and grace)E: Black and White (and smile)40th week of the 52 project. I can feel the season of "staying in" has started full gear in Sweden. I like the colours of autumn but I much prefer it with sunshine too! Let's hope the bits of light that are so good for photos stay a bit that way!A little bit of the Autumn feel near our house:and a lot of cosy moments at home:Reading absolutely anywhere:(yes I love this bookshelves so I take it as much as I can):She invented this to present the weather:Many faces of pre-teenagehood:and dancing away... or not:Have a good week all!

E: He is so ready to pose for me wheneverL:She is so fed up with my photo takingIt's Autumn, it's so beautiful colours, it won't last long. It's the 39th week of the 52 project and Lily is making me hit a wall with her refusal to be taken in photos. She is making it a thing to make a scene every time I take my camera out. It's making it more difficult to go on with the project but I'm sticking to it nonetheless! Power to the camera, haha....And with those kind of colours, it's a shame to miss it (this is the current view from my living room). And I can take her without her consent anyway (and him too)!Enjoying the warmth of the veranda:And even I'm playing sometimes:We went back to Millesgården, such a great place especially when the weather is nice. We had the chance to see Josef Frank for the last time. And the park is so good:And around ours also the leaves are getting crazily nice:And the light too:That profile:And that sulking:Have a nice week!

It goes fast. Autumn in full gear, but with some warmer days. It's still difficult with school but otherwise they are still enjoying discovering their new home. I took a lot of pictures this week I realise. The coming one will not be as productive so I'm probably making up for it! Lots and lots of outtakes, I hope you can cope with it!We took a boat to go to the center of Stockholm. How nice it is to be able to go to town by the water even if it takes longer than with other transport modes:Freckles still going strong:Same eyelashes:and the perks of arriving to Stockholm late afternoon (but always with a book at hand):We have a lot of cosy times at home:And we had lunch in a really nice place outside with a really nice view:And went for a nice walk around:Do you know what they are?:And even some goat feeding:Last but not least, some posing at home dressing with clothes I can't get into and jewels I don't wear anymore:If you have arrived here, I hope you enjoyed it!

E: apple pickingL: apple loving37th week of the 52 project! Autumn has really started. We spent the week-end with family and it felt really good. The kids played with friends and cousins. That was a little relief from school difficulties too. Otherwise it was a lot about picking apples, drawing, playing and enjoying the last bit of warmth in this seasonal transition. Another type of editing trial, which makes it maybe difficult in terms of harmony. But I'm on a trial and error phase and I'll get out of it soon!Of course, there are plenty plenty of outtakes:The apple picking session:Hair envy:Lots of reading:And painting:And other fun things:Have a nice week all:

L+E: Happy times (and crooked teeth)36th week of the 52 project and third week in their new school. The first is going well (I think!), the second, not so much... Let's hope we will see improvements soon. Meanwhile we are trying to enjoy everything else that this new place of our offers (as long as the weather allows, hum) so we can bring the positive back to our house as much as we can. We went this week-end to Artipelag. A really cool place that mixes art and nature. It's a museum with an exhibition and it's also in the archipelago and the setting is amazingly beautiful. You can have a nice walk around and have lunch (relatively expensive but nice food) with a fantastic view. What else? Well, a lot of outtakes!I played with a different editing this time, so the colours are different, making it look warmer and slightly vintage I believe. Still trying to find my way around with how I want my pictures to look like. And definitely still have to work on it (especially in terms of consistency!). Maybe not as natural as usual. Let me know what you think!Beautiful surroundings:Where we had lunch:Pine forest walks:The museum is a great building too:We saw an Andy Warhol exhibition which was really good and then went back to the sea:beautiful lights around there I tell you:And a lot lot more:(if you look closely, I'm saying hi to you there) That's all for now, we'll definitely be back!

E: Monkey number 1L: Monkey number 235th week of the 52 project. A lot of monkeying to compensate the somewhat still difficult moments of adaptation with school. We spend a lot of time together and that's really what I was hoping at least for the beginning. Not at the expense of having a hard time elsewhere though. But adaptation takes time! In the meantime we do fun things like taking kids to the beach after school. But also going to the amusement park of Stockholm Gröna Lund. A really cool place with an american 50s style and just bordering the sea, with a great view of the city.Or just picking up plums in our garden! Here are the outtakes:And a bit of tourism:We are trying to harvest as many plums as possible:We also have some blackberries (eaten on spot):And the result of our first harvest : Have a nice week!

L:enjoying the sea after schoolE:enjoying being on his little island after school34th week of the 52 project and rolling. It's been a funny week: so many ups and downs! To be very honest, the school start was somewhat much bumpier that expected. I hope the early disappointment will fade and leave room to much happier days.In order to balance this, we enjoyed the nice weather offered and went to bathe after school almost every day (10 min drive from our place). Quite a luxury! We also have the time to go to exhibitions or to see a free ballet outdoor in a park. That's the kind of life we are having now and taking the most of it until the weather doesn't allow it any longer (then we can sulk about all the other disappointments).Meanwhile, I took a lot of pictures, so here is some outtakes:Let me show one of the spot we went to a lot this week (all sort of blues, my favourite):Lily is trying to get some help, but won't get any for a while:We recently started with the Global Guardian project. I'll talk to you about it more in length later. Go and have a look! It's really important to me and a great tool to start with. The first issue was about the oceans and it was a big awakening for the kids. Now, they are gathering every plastic and other wastes we find around there (even in the water!) to put it in the bin:And I know that the next issue is about Brazil. We started talking about it and Lily realised that we cannot live without trees, so here is a little tree hugging to thank them:We enjoyed it over there:We also went to Millesgården which is just next door to our home. They have an exhibition on Josef Frank which is just brilliant. I'll probably make another blog post about this. And with Lily, I spent the afternoon in Stockholm:We saw Midsummer night's dream Swedish style. With the Stockholm opera ballet, for free in a park! And with real sunset! So good! And s'more:Have a nice week all!

E: Hard to catch his eyes sometimesL: Growing up, but still very cheekyThis 33rd week of the 52 project has been rather full on. Kids started their school and the weather has been quite "Brussels style" I would say (although of course, there, it was nice apparently). All in all, not ideal to take a lot of photos! However, as you can imagine, I still have some outtakes:Amazing curls sometimes:The thinker:Adventuring:(That's the path behind my house for those who don't follow me on Insta)ok, I do catch his eyes sometimes:She is an absolute baby lover, totally baby obsessed:And s'more:That's it for now, see you next week!
