Winter mood during our Christmas in Sweden

January 4, 2020

Looks like a black and white picture, right? Well, it isn't. It's just the mood of that day. If not the mood of the entire stay. There wasn't any snow nor frost. But at least there was beautiful pictures to take.

I never thought I would enjoy a foggy rainy winter day, but I did. And many times over:

The Year 2019 in in pictures and posts

January 1, 2020

In the end, I decided to do a year in review like I did last year and the year before, just to have an overview, a little round up and start fresh for 2020. Good way to share memories and see how quickly time goes. Also a nice way to see that when I think I haven't done much, it's maybe not so true.

Another year full of recipes, tips, inspiration and portraits. It's also the year I started working with my new camera for the first time, can you see the difference in style?:

New York - Easter 2019

December 11, 2019

I finally, finally finished a little movie from the footages I had taken in New York last Easter. I was waiting for that to share all the other pictures I hadn't share on the April portraits post. Somehow, I didn't have the confidence to do it so far.

But being on sick leave with a broken foot helps you get rid of that massive procrastination It was the first time I filmed with my new camera at the time and I wasn't as confident as with my old one. But in the end, I'm pretty happy with the result :

https://vimeo.com/378384857

So how do you like my coming back to Videoing? I have one more in store to show you from this summer!

And here is also a picture snippet of our trip from last Easter if you fancy a look too:

Greece with the Flo Show - the Paros workshop

November 26, 2018

So. The Paros photography workshop. Which was so much more than that!Organised by the amazing Flo from the Flo show. I thought I would share it with you right away. The pictures were ready quite quickly, I filled in a folder named Paros. And I shared some on instagram too. But then I froze. It was like I wanted to hold those beautiful moments for myself in fact. As if sharing would take the experience away from me. And keeping it for me would make it closer a bit longer! But now I'm ready to share. Precisely because it is almost like reliving it again. Ready to tell you a bit about the magic that happened there. Follow me:

Visit Österlen: some tips and pics

September 12, 2018

We spent four days in Österlen this year. It's a place we went to before, I wrote about it already on the blog. You can actually compare how I edited the pictures then and now, that's very interesting (to me at least , haha). We rented the coolest airbnb chosen by yours truly and my son. I really love that little bit of Sweden that is so different from the rest. If you are interested, here are some tips and pics of our stay:

Winter in the Morvan (or was it actually Spring?)

April 26, 2018

We went back to Morvan last Easter just like the one before. I have already shown you the Easter/Egg hunt part here. I thought it would be funny to do a winter post about the region as I did one on Easter/spring, Summer and Autumn. But we didn't go last winter. Or so I thought. Because Easter there this year was very much how I imagine it can be in December! Check it out and you will see what I mean:

doors blue Lily ivy

In the mood for blue doors

January 17, 2018

vendée doors blue

blue doors photography kids

If you have been following me on instagram for a while, you know I have this little obsession for blue doors. I even created a hashtag this summer when I was in Vendée (one of the kingdom of blue doors!): #inthemoodforbluedoors! And I promised that when it would reach 200 entries, I would make a blog post with some blue doors I took. And some of my favourite entries in bonus: So that's Vendée. Where my father has a summer house and where the kids learn how to surf. Full of blue doors and making me want to make my kids pose in front of them all the time (and oups, actually they did):And then I found out that the place where my mum has a summer house, Morvan, also has them aplenty:How fun was it to have something to fall back to when creativity is lacking? I wanted to create a hashtag that was easy to use and would give you something to look for. Yet making you go out with your camera and go for a hunt. Maybe a way for me (and for you) to regain inspiration and an eye open on the world around!Brussels, Paris, London, Sweden... There are blue doors everywhere! And it worked! People have fed my hashtag with their discoveries and creativities. More than 200 posts overall! And I promised to share some of the ones I love the most here. It will maybe make you discover some new persons to follow on instagram if you are there:One of my favourite entry is from Gemma of @blossoms.and.wren who adds a lot of amazing pictures of blue doors to the tag!@blossoms.and.wren And then of course, my friend Úna of @MissOuna, if you don't know her account, you should definitely go and follow her: @missOunaAn amazing account to see is also Benedicte from @wanderwonders with so many beautiful traveling tips and photos:@wanderwondersThe one who made the tag reach 200 was another IG friend Louise @Louise_thomasonwho lives far up north in the Shetlands, definitely check her out too:Two other persons I really like contribute very often to the hashtag with some cool pictures:@minalulu@it's_me_zazieAnd some more I liked too:@theloopfactory@styledcanvasfrom my favourite video teacher@xanthebI wish I could share much more of the talented contributions here but this would be a too long post (Maybe already too long? ). So please go and check out the hashtag itself! and now go and find blue doors, and be curious!Maybe next I'll start a hashtag with blue houses? what do you say?

Beautiful autumn landscape

Morvan - our stay in the Autumn

November 26, 2017

We have been in the Morvan again, visiting my mum's house this autumn. So I thought it was a good idea to show you how it to you in that season too. We were there during Spring (i.e Easter) and Summer. I tried to take pictures of the same places to show you how amazing season changes make it all the more beautiful:I took this very same picture each times, if you care to check the previous posts. In the summer Lily is holding flowers. In Spring, she was running in the field with white wild flowers. It's one of our favourite walks. The views are just amazing! I'm not going to go into details about the region. You can check the previous post. But it's really worth it!I'm hoping to do it every time we go! Will I dare going this winter? Not sure. But we know it's probably so beautiful with the snow. I'm just afraid of the cold! This time, we were blown away by the colours:

Summer in Sweden - our holidays part 3

September 29, 2017

I have been meaning to make a post about the last part of our holidays a long time ago. But life got in the way. We moved, school began and I started work again. I guess these are just excuses but I find it more difficult to find time for the blog. And for taking pictures. I hope it comes back! So, we went to Sweden after France. Here is a little summary of our two weeks there:

Beautiful Morvan View

Summer in Morvan - our holidays part 2

August 24, 2017

I have already talked about Morvan and my mum's place on this blog: here, here and here. And also here actually. Every time it was about Morvan during the Easter time. So I thought it would be nice to do a post about it during the summer. This place is a very seasonal area. In the sense that you really feel every seasons. If you check the previous posts, I have taken a picture of this view during Easter and you can see the differences. The flowers, the light... Let me take you there again during summer time:

Summer in Vendée - Our holidays part 1

August 21, 2017

We spent ten days at my father's summer house in Vendée. More precisely in Brétignolles sur mer. I only did a 52 portrait session before there. Oh, and all the picture in my latest Smoke bomb portrait session! In all honesty, I didn't like that region at first. I thought Brittany (above) or Charente Maritime with it's Oléron and Ré islands (below) were much nicer. But it grew on me. And now I see all of its beautiful sides and I want to show you a little bit of what I liked this time around:

A day or two in Margate

August 10, 2017

On our way to a wedding in the UK, Pelle and I spent a day and a night in Margate. I highly recommend it. It's a sea town in Kent getting on the hype for all Londoners wishing to escape the buzz of the city. And have some fresh sea air over the day. Or two.Plus, if you have kids, there is a great theme park called Dreamland. Brought to life again a couple of years ago in a great 50s style. You have a Helter Skelter and a roller disco room. What's not too love? We didn't do it because we were sans children but it's surely a place they would love!If it's a nice day, this town has great beaches. And if not, it has great shops including antiques and vintage stores you will love. Oh, and also lovely restaurants:

Birthday week-end when Lily turned 9

June 3, 2017

Lily turned 9 not that long ago.  As she didn't have many friends in her class, we decided to avoid trying to have a birthday party. But instead we would have a family week-end full of adventures: I was a bit heartbroken at first that she wouldn't have the usual friends big party. But then, this family/adventure week-end grew on us. And it was actually the greatest idea. She will probably remember it better than all of her previous parties! It started with a little trip to the sea before hitting the road. The water was much chillier than expected (especially because it was so hot in the air that day!)Then we went to our family in Örebro.  It's a place I mentionned before because they have a great open art exhibition every two years. But it's also where Pelle's family lives and it was really good this year to be able to have more reunions with them!I ended up doing the Nigella's olive oil gluten free chocolate cake I was advised to do on instagram and it was quite nice with mascarpone and raspberries on top!Lily got a Ukulélé for her birthday as requested, played right away with it. Such happiness! It was such a beautiful week-end too!We drove to near Gothenburg from there to an amazingly beautiful hotel. Just a bit weird that it's in the middle of a golf course. But if you ignore that fact, you are in paradise! The rooms have a scandinavian style. With woodland and white design. And big window bays giving you a view to the forest:I'm pretty sure the woods have fairies there! The real birthday day was Sunday. We got a little cake and a candle for her and gave her some more presents:This includes that Bellerose dress she really liked! The aim of the trip was to go to Universum, a huge science center in Gothenburg that Lily really wanted to visit. On our way, there was a dandelion field and I had to stop to take some pics of course:Kids had a great time at Universum. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend it!And when we were on our way back to Stockholm, I got totally obsessed with Colza (Rapeseed) fields and thankfully we could stop at one of them so I could take pictures!Great end to a great birthday week-end! Overall, she was very happy about everything. And I'm sure she'll have much more memories of it. I think planning trips is one of the best present you can have. What do you think?

Artipelag in the spring

May 23, 2017

When we went to Artipelag in the summer, I promised to go and check it during every seasons. So we went during the winter. And now we paid it a visit during early spring. And I'm still in awe of the place. I already praised it in my previous posts and explained why. But I will do a little reminder here with a few pictures:This place is truly magical. Any time, any weather and I'm totally bewitched! So Artipelag is a beautiful place on the Värmdö island of the Stockholm archipelago. It's first a museum where you have great exhibitions and a restaurant but it's also nice walk paths with beautiful views and settings. One by the sea and one by a pine forest. When we came last time, it was rather cold and grey but still. The colours were amazing, the  views are stunning and the museum is a great place. Always such a treat!Oh and did I mention the pine forest? I think I did!So comfortable, she didn't want to move for a while......but had to! And it ends with some beautiful birch trees so typical of the north of Europe:I also made a little week-end movie so you can see more:I'm not sure I'll see it in the Autumn. All is a bit uncertain at the moment. But we will certainly try to as I'm sure It would blow my mind (and my camera).
