Eliott and Lily: Portraits by the window (always wanted to try backlit/ contre jour portraits)

This is not going to be a long post. I only had a tiny window of opportunity this time in February (not many weekends together nowadays in this household. I can't believe I'm saying that now that we are all stuck at home together!
There was a lot of social outings - yes still allowed during those weeks- and not many out going together). But I had this idea of the window and the curtains inspired by a recent workshop I attended...
And it worked! Now publishing this today, you can imagine my first thought: this is the sight they will have over each other for at least the next... 5 weeks...
Eliott Lily portraits
February isn't my favourite month. Although I think we had more luck with the weather last year! However, we also had a little play with some roses, so I'm still happy. They were of such nice pink orange mixed colour, I loved it:

And I had Lily for myself for five minutes more. Despite her complaining half the time, once she is in it, she is really giving so much to those photoshoots and I love it. She gives ideas I didn't even have. I'm so lucky:

And now of course, all the portraits outtakes!

And just two last one for the road. This was not how I intended it but I love the way her hair got stuck on the fabric:

I surely hope I'll use again that old lace curtain I totally forgot I had. With maybe a bit more light and rays of sunshine this time. Can you picture it? I surely can.
