It's our third summer in Österlen in a row. And our fourth time there. We love it but two times out of four we had very nasty weather. And this time was one of them. But we didn't let ourselves down by it. We embraced the beautifulness in every conditions:
Yes, the weather wasn't amazing, except the evening when we arrived and the day we left.
This was the view from our house in Abbekås. It's a lovely town by the water and has a very nice restaurant too.
Playing titanic...
Those typical Österlen/South Skåne houses that I would dream of owning one day:
(also a view from our house. Many many birds to watch. Amazing!)
Despite the rain and storm the day after, we went to Ales stenar. A place I remembered fondly (and wanted to take some hair blowing pics again). But it was so windy and rainy, I couldn't take pics I thought... almost!
On our way there, we had lunch in an amazing pasta place Pastafabriken where they make it by hand. So delicious! (and making us ready for that kind of stormy weather):
Possibly one of my favourite place on earth. My camera was so wet that day though, I didn't know if it would survive!
Pretty much how we felt with all the rain!
As it was still raining the day after, we decided to make a short trip to Ystad, the neighbouring city. If you check my previous blog post on Österlen, you can see a little more of it too. Even in the rain it's beautiful but I didn't want to risk my camera out as much as the day before:
It was supposed to be our last day and we were supposed to go back straight to Malmö. But the sun was finally shining, so guess what I wanted to do? Go back to Ales stenar so I could for the first time take pictures of it with sunshine. And it was all worth it!
Finally we did a little detour to my favourite white sand beach with a very cold sea (but we all love it): Sandhammaren.
Then when you realise your kids are wearing opposite matching colours, this is what happens:
That's it for that part of the Sweden summer 2019. Last stop was Örebro. Next stop will be Malmö and Copenhagen.
And just a few little more outtakes? I had so much more but it's not possible to hold anyone's attention with so many pics !
See you on the next stop :)
