Dam sum in Brussels

Dam sum is by far the best dim sum restaurant in Brussels. Those who know me, know that I have this crazy adoration for dim sums. I love them, I crave them. I even went to Beijing for our honey moon more or less to be able to have a feast of them. It was never a thing I could find in Brussels. Some restaurants had it, sometimes better than others but if I really wanted to fulfil my need, I would go to London (I could list my favourite dim sum restaurants there on the blog maybe one day). Then Dam Sum opened, and that my friends, was a life changer!They have really nice bbq buns and classic har gao among other choices. Their shrimp gyozas are amazing. Their overall menu isn't so big but it's fresh, they don't add glutamate and if you are lucky you can even see them making some of the dim sums in front of you. The cherry on the cake is their speciality: the xiao long bao, which is a steamed bun that includes a little soup you suck before eating the ravioli. Simply delicious! Right now they have one with some truffle taste, you have to go try it.Here is a little movie I made, again with my not so great camera, but you get the idea:They don't take reservation, so you have to go a little early or expect some waiting time, but the turn over is ok . La Frénésie is more than a flower and a vintage deco shop. It's filled with love, the love of Caroline for a colourful life, sweet jazzy women singer voices, 50s and 60s world and of course flowers.

Another blogpost I have been meaning to do for a long time, before Christmas so you would all go and do your shopping there.... is this one on AmStramGram, the best kids bookstore in Brussels! I surely hope that you will go there over the year anyway, it's worth it at any time! I'm writing in English and of course this is mainly a French bookstore but you can find some (not many) books in other languages too (English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish...)Frédérique, the owner, will always give you the best advice and is very helpful. She knows what to buy for all ages, even teenagers and adults:You also find great toys, games and decoration. Frédérique will always have some new cool things, she recently got hold of some kids friendly pop figurines for instance. She has great colorful tastes:In other words, go there! Kamasi Washington

First of all: Best wishes to you all! This year will see many changes (for me at least but I hope in the world too and for the better!) and I'm also hoping for more family time, friends time, lots of culture and nature in my life.I thought it was good to start the year with a bit of music. I have been wanting to talk to you about Kamasi Washington that I went to see in concert at Ancienne Belgique mid-November and somehow never managed too... but it's never too late! Mixture of jazz, funk and soul, he has such a presence on stage, great musicians and an amazing crazy woman back vocal surrounding him. If you have Kamasi Washington passing by near you, I strongly advice to go and see him, it's brilliant!I even got a signed CD and managed to talk to him about the Paris attacks (which had happened just the week before), he didn't seem to mind!This one was my favourite I think even though it's not the best representative of Kamasi Washington's style:Enjoy!
