Read MoreAnother blogpost I have been meaning to do for a long time, before Christmas so you would all go and do your shopping there.... is this one on AmStramGram, the best kids bookstore in Brussels! I surely hope that you will go there over the year anyway, it's worth it at any time! I'm writing in English and of course this is mainly a French bookstore but you can find some (not many) books in other languages too (English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish...)Frédérique, the owner, will always give you the best advice and is very helpful. She knows what to buy for all ages, even teenagers and adults:You also find great toys, games and decoration. Frédérique will always have some new cool things, she recently got hold of some kids friendly pop figurines for instance. She has great colorful tastes:In other words, go there! (address and contacts after the pictures):1 Rue Général Mac Arthur, 1180 UccleTel: 02 345 81 85WebsiteIt's a very nice and fancy area to have a walk in the weekends and you will find some other nice shops too. And if you are really a fan of books, especially art books but this time for adults, you can hop on the other side and visit this great shop:
First of all: Best wishes to you all! This year will see many changes (for me at least but I hope in the world too and for the better!) and I'm also hoping for more family time, friends time, lots of culture and nature in my life.I thought it was good to start the year with a bit of music. I have been wanting to talk to you about Kamasi Washington that I went to see in concert at Ancienne Belgique mid-November and somehow never managed too... but it's never too late! Mixture of jazz, funk and soul, he has such a presence on stage, great musicians and an amazing crazy woman back vocal surrounding him. If you have Kamasi Washington passing by near you, I strongly advice to go and see him, it's brilliant!I even got a signed CD and managed to talk to him about the Paris attacks (which had happened just the week before), he didn't seem to mind! This one was my favourite I think even though it's not the best representative of Kamasi Washington's style:Enjoy!
I have just been featured in the lovely blog of Flora who owns a great online shop to share my tips on what to do in Brussels.
Read MoreÖrebro isn't the place you would think of going to visit if you are spending some time in Sweden. Yet, if you have the luxury and the time, I would really recommend to go during the Open art days there.
Read Moref you ever go to Sweden and are not afraid of winds and unstable weather, you should definitely have a try at the South region, in particular Österlen. Although it is famous for it's yellow fields (colza) pictures, in the summer it's full of wheat fields surrounded by poppies. The beaches are amazingly beautiful too. But beware: white sand and turquoise water doesn't mean it's warm (unlike what I had in mind!)

Read MoreOn our way to the North, we often stopped here in Hamburg before but never actually went to see the city. It was about time we put our nose outside as we say in French. It was very short but still worth it.
Read MoreOur kids were two weeks away from Brussels in my parents places (Burgundy and Vendée in France) and we went to pick them up in Paris after they took the accompanied train (like in planes, you know, but in the train with 20 other kids and 5 adults to take care of you with games and songs and all!). So happy to see them after that long!

Read MoreWe took a family trip to Mons 2015 (European Capital of Culture) the other day. It was surprising to see how beautiful this city has become. I remembered it as dull and grey but in fact it has a cosy, charming and old style. The events and artistic creations set up for the cultural capital are spread all over town. You can take young children with you and walk around. You will always bump into something special such as Sloths hanging above your head. The children were a bit puzzled. Were these real?
Read MoreAs I have stated in my presentation, I love colours and I think it is ok to saturate a bit my pictures to make them look bright and joyful. But I had a look at my old tumblr on a new screen and wow: it's a little too much even if I want to have a look at life in kodacolor... In the class I am attending on wordpress blogging with the great teacher Steve Mepsted, a class mate made the opposite statement: she wants to have photos without filter, saturation etc. Just the pure beauty and truth of the moment. While I find this statement beautiful, I also think that photos are not taken with my eyes in real life, but with a camera and therefore twisted in any case. So why not a little bit of jiggling? Here are a picture I had taken for Instagram and edited:So what do you think?[polldaddy poll=8962755]
She wanted a purple birthday party, I think she got it...
A scandinavian feel everywhere: The Nordic bakery in London
I’ll be moving to Stockholm in a bit more than a year and as I have shared feelings about it, I have to seek all the positive aspects about up North! Scandinavia has exported its best and when one mixes two things I love (cafes and London), it can only be one thing: winner!I love strolling around London. This city has the most amazing cafes, restaurants and as
famous French cartoonist puts it: “London tickles your graphic nerve every 10 meters”.Let me take you to the
on Cavendish square:
Simple decoration as you would expect and a lot of woods. It’s nice and quiet
This place is ideal for a quick lunch or a Fika (tea time please). You will find rye bread sandwiches, salads and amazing cinnamon filled pastries. Decent coffees and tea also.
You’ll even have some blond hair for a better northern feel !

So this is it. I'm blogging! At least 10 years after everyone, but it's still going to be fun and maybe even exciting...My name is Karen, I'm a French mother of two, married to a tall Swede and currently living in Brussels (but will soon be moving to Stockholm). I have a green mind and love all about my children, food, travelling, music, books, art, yoga, tea but most of all photos and photography. Life has so many wonders and can be so colourful. Let me share with you some adventures and things I like that you might like too.
